About
The International Piano Series at the College of Charleston is a non-profit organization founded by Enrique Graf in 1990. The generous help and support of our donors and devoted concert goers has allowed the series to expose thousands of students to world-class musicians.
Each season, the International Piano Series presents an array of international pianists in recitals and occasional orchestral and chamber music programs. These artists offer master classes for young musicians in the Charleston area while they are here. Students are exposed to different approaches of music making, while the Charleston community is provided an inspiring, entertaining, and affordable musical experience. Some of the luminaries that have appeared at the College include: Leon Fleisher, Earl Wild, Menahem Pressler, Yuja Wang, Abbey Simon, Ann Schein, Ian Hobson, Jorge Luis Prats, Ilana Vered, the Kocian Quartet, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.
"You can always count on the College of Charleston's International Piano Series to bring a complete and varied cross-section of the pianist's art. From brilliant young sensations, through mid-career masters, to legendary "elder statesmen" of their instrument, Charleston audiences are blessed to hear some of the very finest of each." - CharlestonToday.net
